Patricia Lorraine (Cole) Zakaib
(August 22, 1957 - March 9, 2005)

WAYNESBORO - Patricia Lorraine (Cole) Zakaib, 47, of 1601 Stuart Ave., Waynesboro, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 9, 2005) at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.

She was born Aug. 22, 1957, in Orange, a daughter of Jay H. Cole and Margaret Birkhead Cole.

Patricia was a 1976 graduate of Waynesboro High School, and was a loving mother, daughter and homemaker. She was a fun-loving and supportive friend to many people in Waynesboro, Staunton, Fairfield and Augusta County. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, managed apartment buildings and volunteered at Kate Collins School.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Jay H. Cole, in 1989.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret Birkhead Cole of Waynesboro; her first husband, Robert L. Zakaib of Waynesboro; a daughter, Jessica R. Smith of Rockbridge County; a son, Robbie L. Zakaib of Waynesboro; brothers, James Daniel Cross-Cole and wife, Julie, of Arlington, William Richard Cole and wife, Paula, of Indiana, Tabb A. Cole and wife, Robin, of Stuarts Draft, Timothy A. Cole of Greenville, Jeffrey L. Cole and Regina, of Sherando, and Barry G. Cole of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special friends, Terry and Dennis Cason of Greenville, and Susie Shifflett of Waynesboro.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday (March 11, 2005) at the Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. James Chappell and Mr. Andy Shifflett.

Active pallbearers will be Tabb William Cole, Frank Harris, Darrell Siron, Ricky Hughes, David Jones and Joe Zakaib.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today (March 10, 2005) at McDow Funeral Home. Memorials can take the form of donations to Patricia's family to help with family expenses.
